We love beeswax at Songbird Naturals. However, we recognise that more and more people are seeking plant-based alternatives to the products they use, and we want our waxes to be something everyone can enjoy using.
That’s why, in the summer of 2019, we launched our brand new vegan range of Massage, Reflexology and Fascial Release waxes to complement our original beeswax-based products.
It was important to us not to compromise on the quality of our waxes, so we spent many months researching, developing and trialling these vegan alternatives. We have worked hard to maintain the same grip-slip ratio as our original waxes, and create a consistency that’s as close to the beeswax version as possible.
If you’re used to our original waxes, you may find our vegan alternatives look and feel a little different. Plant-based wax behaves differently to beeswax when blended with oils, and this is to be expected from natural plant-based ingredients. We are confident that people will be just as happy with our vegan blends (with some customers commenting that they actually prefer the slightly drier working feel), but it’s worth bearing in mind that our vegan blends have their own unique feel. Generally speaking, our vegan waxes initially present as slightly looser than their beeswax-based equivalent, but they tighten up quickly upon application. The plateau and finish can be a little drier, which some people prefer.
As you would expect from a Songbird product, all the ingredients in our vegan range are 100% natural and never tested on animals. Our entire vegan range is also nut-free.
